January 2011 features this fine `Cello by the London maker

Thomas Kennedy, circa 1820 and labelled `William Forster` for whom it was probably made.

Detail of the beautifully arched back, this is typical of the better grade of instrument that this maker produced, the purfling is beautifully inlaid and the edge work clean and precise.
